Whilst doing some online shopping research (a daily occurrence!) I thought I’d celebrate whats great about the British high street; with my ultimate edit of whats in store right now. These brands are producing beautiful, on trend yet timeless designed pieces, that wont break the bank, whats not to like!
Finery
A newbie to the scene, I loved this brand as soon as they launched in 2014, they are a breath of fresh air to what was becoming a bit of a samey on-line fashion experience…this season is looking very Tibi/Vetements!
Jigsaw
Going strong since 1972 and living up to their mantra that ‘fashion is temporary, style is permanent’. Their Duke street store including shop at bluebird is a must visit.
Warehouse
Started in 1976 with the notion of making ‘Design for the High Street and fashion that is simple and accessible to everyone’. I’ve heard they have a new design team in place and it is beginning to show… I especially like the collection designed by Lowri Edwards, winner of Warehouse & The British Fashion Council’s design competition.
Toast
Established in West Wales in 1997, originally a mail order company and now a truly beautiful lifestyle brand with gorgeous stores around the UK, quality is at the heart of what they do; I would say that they are the high street equivalent to Margret Howell! They’ve used model of the moment Heather Dempsey this season making for a stunning and contemporary summer campaign.
